Management
Business Experience of Executive Officers and Key

Peter Lathrop,
PhD, Founder, CEO, Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Lathrop received his Ph.D. Neurophysiology from
University of Brussels /Roosevelt University Medical College in
1978.
He practiced clinical neurophysiology for ten years
in hospitals and medical clinics, specializing in pain treatment
and injury healing using biomedical electronic devices. He designed
several of these for manufacturers, which are in wide use today.
Dr. Lathrop has received three patents for his work in device design
for treatment of injuries, viruses and neurological disorders.

He has written a medical textbook on Carpal Tunnel
Syndrome as well as authored several articles in various publications.
Dr. Lathrop has designed and patented biomedical systems
and electromedical devices in the areas of: viral disease, cell
bioengineering, neurological injury and disease, peripheral and
CNS repair, biomedical instruments, pain management, neurostimulation,
molecular signaling, and cell engineering and repair.
For over 20 years, Dr. Lathrop has been a consulting
electronic design engineer who helped to develop Transcutaneous
Electrical Nerve Stimulator (TENS) units for several medical device
companies. The TENS devices are used to relieve pain, particularly
back pain and rehabilitate nerves and muscles. Currently, 80 million
TENS units have been sold in the U.S. and 250 million worldwide.
Dr. Lathrop has demonstrated outstanding management
capabilities in multidisciplinary tasks (business & technology)
relating to a broad range of corporate matters including: market
analysis and risk assessment, research and development, project
management, intellectual property development and protection, optimization
of resources, and overall corporate and financial performance.
Perseverance, superior analytical skills, and an unsurpassable
work ethic, mixed with a creative and intuitive mind, have been
qualities governing Dr. Lathrop’s undertakings throughout
his career.

Kay Zurn,
President & CMO
Ms. Zurn has a background in business management and
marketing performing as a coach and consultant with hands on experience
in business start-up and ownership, leadership and management, and
marketing. She brings with her 15+ years of successful corporate
experience from the healthcare and medical device industries in
the areas of management, sales training and development, customer/client
education and training, and marketing - both internationally and
domestically.
During her ten years with Medtronic Neurological Ms.
Zurn was continually involved at various levels with product and
therapy development, launch and full commercialization. This included
the clinical trial stages through to full market release of ITB™
Therapy for spasticity as a symptom of brain injury, cerebral palsy,
multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury and stroke; clinical trial
stages to full market release of Activa® Parkinson’s Control
Therapy which is delivered via deep brain stimulation; post market
release studies of Intrathecal Drug Delivery via the SynchroMed
Infusion System for Cancer Pain; and Neurostimulation for Low Back
Pain, Chronic Pain in the Limbs, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.
Ms. Zurn is a former Registered Nurse and her education includes
a BA in Health Sciences, and a Master’s Degree in Business
Administration.

Jo Barsa, CPA,
Chief Financial Officer
Jo Barsa has been a valuable source of strategic leadership
in the Accounting field for the past 20 years. She is the founder,
Chief Executive Officer and President of the Barsa companies.
After graduating from San Diego State University in
1983 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting, Jo worked
in the audit department of the San Diego office of Ernst & Young
where she earned her CPA certification. In 1987, Jo developed her
own accounting consulting firm, Barsa & Associates. During the
early stages of the company, Jo developed an industry niche by recognizing
the importance of utilizing technology in the accounting arena.
At that time, she began providing accounting software solutions
in conjunction with accounting services. Over the years, both divisions
of the business prospered. In 2001, she spun off the software division
and formed Barsa Technology Solutions, Inc, which currently represents
multiple mid-market accounting software solutions. Jo has added
IT outsourcing to her suite of product and service offerings, further
enhancing her value-add outsourcing concept. Barsa & Associates
continues to provide outsource accounting services to businesses
in a broad range of industries, and the Barsa companies continue
to thrive.
Jo currently serves as the President of the Ernst
& Young Alumni Association and is a member of the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of CPAs.
She is a member of several local professional organizations and
participates in the Peer Review program. Jo was a finalist for the
2002 and the 2003 “.
Barsa & Associates is currently providing accounting
and other financial services to the Company and Jo was appointed
acting Chief Financial Officer of the Company in October 2003.
